China’s Weekly Wrap-Up: National Day celebrations, economic analysis

Beijing, Oct 4 (Prensa Latina) National Day celebrations and the analysis of the proposals of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development (2026-2030) were the events with the greatest impact in China over the week that ends on Saturday.

China commemorated on October 1 the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, focusing on deepening modernization and expanding opening-up.

President Xi Jinping affirmed that the country will advance this goal with unity and effort, speaking at a reception marking the anniversary at the Great Hall of the People.

Xi also stated that the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, which will define the guidelines for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), will be held in 2025.

This week, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee analyzed and formulated the leading issues of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development (2026-2030).

Chaired by President Xi Jinping, the meeting assessed the proposals in this document, which will be presented at the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, scheduled for October 20-23.

The Political Bureau noted that the proposal accurately reflects current challenges and shows a strategic plan for the next five years.
