According to the statement, during the conversation, the Russian leader warmly congratulated Rahmon on his birthday and highlighted his personal contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The statement also added that the two leaders discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation and the organization of the visit.
Previously, the Kremlin press service reported that Putin will visit Tajikistan on October 9. The president will be accompanied by a high-level delegation.
During his trip, he will participate in the Russia-Central Asia summit and a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
