Venezuela reactivates consular services in Panama

Panama City, Oct 5 (Prensa Latina) The consular section of the Venezuelan Embassy in Panama announced that its services, suspended more than a year ago following the severance of diplomatic relations between the two countries, will be reactivated starting tomorrow, Monday.

According to the report, a special passport and extension program will be held on October 6 and 7.

Starting Wednesday, October 8, comprehensive and regular consular services for Venezuelans will resume.

In this way, the Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment to the agreements reached within the framework of the dialogue between both Foreign Ministries, aimed at providing comprehensive care to their nationals, and reaffirms its willingness to continue strengthening the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Since September 1 of this year, Panama has resumed consular and customer service in Caracas.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated at the time that the measure sought to optimize the processing of procedures and ensure more efficient customer service.

The diplomatic mission urged the Panamanian community residing in the South American country, as well as the general public, to take the necessary precautions to carry out their procedures within the new established hours (Monday to Thursday, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., local time).

On June 6, Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino stated that he had approved the reestablishment of consular ties with Venezuela, which were suspended in July 2024.
