At the forum “Pakistan-Iran Connectivity! For Two Countries and Two Continents,” held in Islamabad, the Iranian diplomat emphasized that Tehran has shifted its security paradigm through border markets and to secure economic and trade benefits.
“Our security borders have become trade borders, which is crucial for future geo-economic integration between the two sides,” he stated.
He stressed that the corridors between Iran and Pakistan are important geostrategic players that can play a significant role in the global economy, in world markets, and enable the two nations’ dream of economic empowerment.
Iran connects Pakistan to Turkey, Azerbaijan, and beyond, to Europe and Eurasia. If we develop our corridors, we will be even more capable of cooperating with each other, he reaffirmed.
Furthermore, he referred to the complementarity that can exist between the Iranian ports of Chahbahar and the Pakistani ports of Gwadar.
Moghaddam added that work is underway in this direction. All means of connectivity, including land, rail, air, and sea, as well as high-level diplomatic and commercial relations between the two nations.
