In a virtual lecture organized by the University of San Carlos in Guatemala, Najera, who is also a PhD in Social Sciences, underscored that the invitation includes the analysis of subjects such as culture, politics, education, and literature, as well as reflections based on the ideas of the Cuban national hero.
Also included are the integration of Latin America and the Caribbean, a factor for global balance; the Golden Age: for children of his time and men of the Americas; and Humanism, nature, and justice against the capitalist decadence of the 21st century, among other issues.
The Meeting’s venue will be the Autonomous University of Chiapas in Tuxtla Gutierrez, the capital of the Mexican state of Chiapas, the coordinator of the International Network of the Marti Chairs explained.
Najera stated that these spaces for reflection and dissemination of Latin American critical thought within higher education institutions have multiplied in the last few years.
He added that one of our commitments is to connect with and encourage initiatives by academicians and, especially, students from institutions where interest in Marti’s work has been growing.
Najera stated that Marti’s critical thought is part of our liberating heritage, and described it as important that this idea be thoroughly studied at the university.
