“It is important to keep in mind that these missiles could also be nuclear-capable, which actually constitutes a truly serious escalation,” Peskov told reporters.
At the same time, the spokesman emphasized on the need of waiting for clearer statements from US President Donald Trump regarding the possible missile supply. US Vice President JD Vance admitted last September in an interview with Fox News that Washington was considering delivering Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kyiv, but made it clear that the final decision rests upon Trump.
According to the Financial Times, some officials close to Trump are unsure that the supply of these long-range missiles would significantly change the situation on the battlefield. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that the possible use of long-range U.S. Tomahawk missiles by Ukrainian troops would not change the situation on the front lines, but would harm relations between Moscow and Washington.
