This Eurasian integration is an urgent need to curb regional and global conflicts, the politician told his affiliated newspaper, the Aydınlık, and warned that without this alliance, the US actions will be unpredictable.
He believed that Turkiye must take its place in Eurasia to preserve its national identity and stressed that this is not an option, but an unavoidable strategic necessity for the nation.
He emphasized that a similar initiative was previously proposed by Devlet Bahceli of the Nationalist Action Party, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s governing partner, what shows there is awareness of this urgency in key political sectors.
Vatan is a party known for its critical stance toward the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, as shown in previous statement of this party demanding the closure of US bases on Turkish territory.
It has also repeatedly advocated for Ankara’s withdrawal from the Atlantic military alliance.
