The ministry specified that the number represented an increase of 123 million trips compared to the holidays in 2024.

Also, tourist spending experienced an increase of 108.18 billion yuan (14.95 billion dollars) compared to the same period last year.

According to the ministry, the celebrations included patriotic activities such as raising the flag and singing red songs, as well as family outings to appreciate the autumn scenery.

The institution highlighted the boom in traditional culture and expressions of intangible heritage, as well as the dynamism of contemporary trends in parks and tourist centers.

The report stressed that cultural and tourism demand showed great vitality and contributed significantly to the growth of the national economy.

National Day is celebrated every October 1 in China and this year coincided with the Mid-Autumn holiday, which extended the vacation period to eight days, one of the country’s most mobile and consuming seasons.
