According to the French Foreign Ministry, President Emmanuel Macron and the High Representative of the European Union for External Action and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will be present at the meeting.

In addition to the host Chancellor, Jean-Noel Barrot (resigned), the foreign ministers of Germany, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Italy, Jordan, Qatar, the United Kingdom and Turkey have been invited to the meeting.

The day before, US President Donald Trump announced that both Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas had accepted the first phase of their plan for a cessation of hostilities in Gaza, an enclave devastated by Israeli aggression and plunged into an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.

Following the announcement, France signaled its willingness to support peace efforts, which explains Thursday’s meeting.

On social networks, President Emmanuel Macron welcomed the agreement for Gaza and considered it an opportunity to move towards the two-state solution.

“Immense hope for the hostages and their families, for the Palestinians in Gaza, for the region,” he wrote on his account on X.
