It endorses 10 action lines, including guaranteeing their full participation in peace processes, promoting their economic empowerment, eradicating gender-based violence, and ensuring their inclusion in climate and digital governance.
China announced new concrete contributions: it will donate 10 million dollars to the United Nations Women (UN Women) over the next five years, allocate 100 million dollars from the Global Development Fund (GDF) and the South-South Cooperation to gender-sensitive projects, and implement 1,000 “small but beautiful” initiatives focused on women and girls.
Additionally, the country will invite 50,000 foreign women to attend exchange and training programs and establish a “Global Center for Women’s Empowerment” to collaborate with international partners.
The document recalled that the 4th World Conference, which adopted the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action on Women, was held in Beijing 30 years ago.
It also remembered that the first global summit was held at the United Nations headquarters a decade ago, both milestones in the international agenda for gender equality.
Participants agreed that, despite setbacks resulting from conflicts, climate crises, and technological gaps, the historical trend toward equity and multilateral cooperation remains strong.
