According to the outlet, the Syrian president is making his visit accompanied by an official delegation consisting of Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani and Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra.

In recent statements to international media, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reiterated that the continued presence of Russian bases on Syrian territory is based on strategic and humanitarian necessity.

The diplomat emphasized that “cooperation between Moscow and Damascus is based on ties of sincere friendship and not on opportunistic interests.”

Official Syrian sources indicated that Al-Shara will also express during the talks his government’s willingness to advance joint economic projects, adapted to the new geopolitical realities, and explore mechanisms to expand international support for the reconstruction of the country.
