Israeli Army arrests as settlers attack

Ramallah, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) Israeli security forces arrested several Palestinians in the West Bank, while Jewish settlers attacked farmers and villages in the occupied territory.

The military arrested three people, including a 15-year-old boy, in the village of Deir Abu Mash’al early this morning after raiding their homes, the official news agency Wafa reported.

According to the source, four people were captured in the city of Salfit, where one of its entrances was blocked by the Israeli soldiers, and three other persons held in the town of Tubas, including a 16-year-old boy.

The occupation forces withdrew from Tubas after a large-scale military operation that lasted hours, involving large army forces and bulldozers, which caused widespread destruction, Wafa reported.

It reported that six other Palestinians were arrested in the northern governorate of Nablus, three of them in the city of the same name and the other three in the neighboring towns of Beita and Burqa.

Meanwhile, a group of Jewish settlers, escorted by soldiers, attacked olive pickers in the village of Turmus Ayya this morning and burned at least two vehicles.

In Al-Mughayyir, Hebrew settlers also looted agricultural land in the Al-Hajjar area and stole olives after preventing residents from moving, Wafa reported.

“During the annual olive harvest season, Palestinian lands are under constant attack by settlers and the army,” the news outlet noted.

In addition, several vehicles were set on fire at dawn at a repair shop in the village of al-Jab’a.

According to official data, since October 7, 2023, when the new phase of violence began, centered in Gaza Strip, settlers have carried out more than 7,100 attacks in the West Bank.
