Workers from the Cuban state mission in the Asian giant evaluated the main contributions and new features of the text, while suggesting some modifications to this document, which has 525 articles and approximately 2,700 paragraphs.
They agreed that the new code reflects Cuba’s current reality; it is more inclusive and has greater scope and benefits, in line with the current context.
The text is applicable to all forms of economic management in the Caribbean nation; it reinforces the prohibition of forced labor, individual rights, and the participation of all workers in decision-making.
Likewise, the new Cuban legal framework protects training abroad, provides for teleworking and the right to so-called digital disconnection, and also requires employers to guarantee insurance for their employees.
According to official figures, more than two million Cuban workers, unionized or not, are participating in this consultation process.
