During a farewell meeting with China’s Ambassador to Nicaragua, Chen Xi, after concluding his diplomatic mission, the co-presidents extended their fraternal gratitude for his leadership, which has allowed for the strengthening of the bonds of friendship and cooperation between both peoples.
Ortega highlighted, at the ceremony, the Chinese diplomat’s leading role in strengthening bilateral relations since the two nations restored ties four years ago.
The president stated, “We express our appreciation, your firmness, and your determination to continue strengthening these relations in all areas between China and Nicaragua.”
The head of State recalled that relations between the two countries have historical roots and highlighted the establishment of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Managua as a decisive step toward, thus consolidating cooperation.
He expressed, “Comrade Chen has been a member of the Communist Party, sharing experiences with the Sandinista Front members. We hope you will convey our greetings and recognition to President Xi Jinping.”
Ortega also underscored his Government’s willingness to continue moving forward with the next ambassador and strengthen the political, economic, and cultural ties between the two peoples.
