The evening brought together dozens of people united by love and admiration for the Caribbean nation. They enjoyed a varied musical repertoire performed by Camerata Bach, Jazz Ta group, and Nicaraguan singers Lenin Triana, Adilia Gutierrez, and Michael Sanchez.
The concert featured iconic Cuban songs such as “Cancion del Elegido” and “El Mayor” by Silvio Rodriguez, “Son de la Loma” by Miguel Matamoros, “Yo Soy el Punto Cubano” by Celina Gonzalez, and “El Mambi” by Luis Casas Romero, accompanied by Cuban Hero Jose Marti’s verses that have been put to music.
The National Theater’s director, Ramon Rodriguez, emphasized at the opening of the gala that Camerata Bach has been carrying out this kind of activities for the island’s culture for more than three decades, which, he said, shows the gratitude of Nicaraguans toward the Cuban people and government.
Rodriguez added that Nicaraguan artists return this cultural legacy with gratitude and affection, dedicating their performances to figures like Jose Marti and all men and women who fought for independence.
Cuban Ambassador to Nicaragua, Iliana Fonseca, in turn, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Cuban people for the warm celebration and the gesture of brotherhood that unites both countries.
Members of the Cuban state mission, Nicaraguan government officials, lawmakers, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, Cuban residents, and friends of solidarity attended the event.
