A statement from the event’s organizers pòint out that the ECRE delegates will gather in the afternoon before the monument built to Italian hero Giuseppe Manzini, in downtown Rome, to depart for the diplomatic mission with Cuban flags and slogans against the economic blockade imposed by the United States on the island.
Participants in the 4th “Cuba Va Conmigo” Cultural Festival, which boosts ties between the Caribbean nation and its artists abroad, will join that demonstration.
This festival encompasses music, dance, painting, and literature, and takes place outside Italy for the first time.
The opening ceremony of the 17th edition of ECRE will take place at the Cuban Embassy in this capital this afternoon. It will begin with a floral offering by the new generations before the bust of National Hero Jose Marti, whose phrase “With All and For the Good of All” will be the theme of this meeting, running until October 26.
The 17th ECRE takes place within the framework of the 130th anniversary of the fall in combat of the National Hero, which was commemorated on May 19, and the upcoming 100th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, to be celebrated on August 13, 2026.
