The military institution specified that an estimated 193 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over the country’s different southwestern regions, including 40 in the Moscow region.
The Defense Ministry’s report noted that 42 aircraft were also eliminated over Bryansk, 42 others over Kaluga, 32 over Tula region, 10 over Kursk, seven over Oryol, the same number over Voronezh, two over Orenburg, two over Tambov, one over Belgorod, one over Lipetsk, and the last obe over Samara.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that of the 40 drones shot down in the capital region, 36 were heading toward the city, but all were intercepted and shot down without causing casualties or significant material damage.
Meanwhile, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov informed that one person died and 23 others were injured, including three children, due to Ukrainian drone attacks on that territory in the last 24 hours.
Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, to protect the population from “the Kiev government’s genocide” and counter national security risks, according to President Vladimir Putin.
