According to Prensa Latina, the Belarusian friends’ statement to the Cuban people clearly shows their support for Havana in its long-standing struggle against the aggressive policy and economic blockade imposed by the United States.
The statement strongly condemns the widespread disinformation campaign about Cuba and the pressure exerted by the United States on third countries, the objective of which is to change the traditional and time-tested position of support for the Cuban resolution against the blockade.
Such a step, which is not based on clear arguments and facts, but on intimidation and threats, undermines the sovereignty and right of independent states to make autonomous decisions in foreign policy, the statement emphasizes, Pérez stated.
At the same time, Belarusian friends express their concern about the tightening of the economic blockade against Cuba, which negatively affects the well-being of the Cuban people. The blockade inevitably leads to rising prices for essential goods and medicines, and deprives vulnerable social groups of their right to a dignified life.
