Firstly, the two organizations have already prepared a container with galvanized roofing sheets, which will arrive in Santiago de Cuba on November 6.

They are also working to send four other containers this November with aid to lessen the damage caused by devastating Hurricane Melissa. The donations include medical and educational supplies, clothes, construction materials, photovoltaic equipment, 40 hospital beds (donated by Sierrallana and Laredo hospitals), 2.4 million syringes, and two million hypodermic needles, totaling half a million euros.

According to sources, the first container will leave the port of Valencia this November 1st, carrying 2.4 million syringes and 110,000 hypodermic needles.

They stated that “Medicuba Spain/SODePAZ launched this fundraising campaign to cover the cost of the containers and the purchase of supplies,” after negotiating a special price with the freight forwarding company.
