Bolivia: Ministerial cabinet prepares for its final session

La Paz, Nov 3 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Luis Arce is preparing for the final cabinet session in La Paz, which will coincide with the official handover of credentials to President-elect Rodrigo Paz in the country's capital, Sucre.

Upon referring to the issue in an interview with Bolivia TV, Deputy Minister of Defense of User and Consumer Rights Jorge Silva confirmed that the final cabinet session led by Arce will be held on November 5.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) ratified that it will also deliver Rodrigo Paz the same day the credentials as a new president, 400 kilometers from the country’s political capital.

According to Silva, despite the distance between Wednesday’s meeting and Paz’s credentials, both events will mark a milestone in the transition of power from one elected government to another.

The deputy minister added that, following the meeting held every Wednesday, the ministers will submit their collective resignations, within the context of the orderly transition process initiated after the October 19 runoff, in which Paz won, representing the Partido Democrata Cristiano (Christian Democratic Party-PDC).

The handing over of credentials to the new president and vice president was initially scheduled for this Monday.

The ceremony was postponed for 48 hours at the request of Paz, who traveled to the United States this weekend with members of his economic team.
