According to the publication, Polish police documented 113 such cases in 2022, a figure that has risen to 188 this year.
This represents an increase of over 76% in the span of two years, the newspaper noted.
Experts believe this situation reflects a dangerous normalization of xenophobia and violence, while pointing out that the hostile rhetoric of some political sectors fuels this climate of intolerance.
During the first 10 months of 2024, 115 Ukrainians filed police reports regarding these incidents, although the news source emphasizes that these official figures may not reflect the total number of incidents. Many victims choose not to file formal complaints with the authorities, according to observers.
