According to the SVR report released this Thursday on its official Telegram channel, European members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are preparing to sabotage the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and are urging the government in Kiev to urgently find ways to change the course of the Ukrainian conflict.

Considering that the conflict in eastern Ukraine is already detrimental to the West and to public perception of Ukraine, the option of sabotaging the aforementioned nuclear power plant has been considered, which would cause a meltdown of its reactor cores, the report emphasizes.

The SVR also reported that the Chatham House research and production center in the UK had already determined the consequences of a potential accident.

The SVR report adds that, according to Chatham House, residents in areas controlled by Kiev and citizens of European Union (EU) countries near Ukraine’s western border would be affected by the dispersal of radioactive particles.
