Casa de las Americas President Abel Prieto told Prensa Latina that the idea came from Dr. Enrique Aleman, coordinator of Cuba’s Platform for Interreligious Dialogue, as part of the Commander-in-Chief’s 100th birthday celebrations.
He added, “We want to promote a debate on the particular spirituality that characterized Fidel and his unwavering ethical and solidarity-based approach, at a time when lies, cynicism, selfish competitiveness, racism, and imperial arrogance reign in the world.”
The desire, he expressed, is to always return to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution “as a paradigm of essential values that go beyond the strictly political aspect.”
The event, in which these and other intellectuals will participate, is a tribute from both entities to the one who remains eternal through his words and deeds; in every Cuban who recognizes his political, moral, and human stature.
