As a result of search operations at the crash site of the military cargo plane, the body of our twentieth martyr was recovered, the institution stated in a press release.

On the eve, the Ministry confirmed the deaths of 20 military personnel following the crash of a C-130 aircraft belonging to the Air Force, which went down while returning from Azerbaijan to Turkish territory.

For his part, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the recovery of the plane’s black box and the start of an investigation to clarify the causes of the accident, in coordination with the competent authorities of Azerbaijan and Georgia.

According to official sources, search and rescue teams from both countries previously located the aircraft wreckage in a difficult-to-access mountainous area, where technical inspection work is ongoing.
