The president arrived early under heavy security at the school where his residence is located, in Olon, in the coastal province of Santa Elena.

The president entered accompanied by his family, marked his ballot, and showed it to the media to confirm his “Yes” vote on all four questions.

After voting, he gave a brief speech and said that “there is nothing more democratic than asking the people about criminals.”

The head of State announced the capture of alias “Pipo,” leader of the criminal gang Los Lobos, an action that, he stated, occurred in cooperation with authorities and police forces from the United States and Spain.
