The Palestinian Presidency stated in a press release, “We express our strong condemnation and categorical rejection of this dangerous incitement, which encourages murder and represents an invitation to settlers to commit further acts of terrorism against the Palestinian people, their land, and their holy sites.”
During a meeting on Monday with members of his Jewish Power party, Ben-Gvir called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take action against the leaders of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) if the United Nations moves forward with recognizing their nation-state.
If that happens, “then you, Mr. Prime Minister, should order the targeted assassinations of high-ranking PNA officials, in addition to announcing the arrest of Abu Mazen (as Abbas is also known), and I will take care of him,” the far-right Israeli politician said.
We urge the US administration and the international community to pressure the Israeli government to stop the campaign of incitement against the Palestinian people and their leaders, which will only lead to more violence and tension, the Presidency responded.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry, which condemned the words of the Israeli official, known for his anti-Arab and expansionist stances, stated the same opinion.
