Italy and Mexico strengthen economic ties at business forum

Rome, Nov 19 (Prensa Latina) The discussions and agreements reached during the 2nd Mexico-Italy Business and Investment Forum, held in this capital, contribute to strengthening bilateral economic relations, according to a statement released on Wednesday.

A release issued on the Italian Foreign Ministry’s official website indicates that the event, which opened at the headquarters of the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Crafts, and Agriculture (Unioncamere) on Monday, highlighted the strong existing ties and the potentialities for expanding them.

Unioncamere, in conjunction with the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Italy (CaMexItal), and the Embassy of that nation, organized the forum.

Italian Undersecretary General of State at the Foreign Ministry Giorgio Silli emphasized at the opening ceremony that “our bilateral relations are excellent and are constantly growing.”

The two nations have a “significant potential for strengthening in terms of investment and trade, in which the Italian government is working with great enthusiasm,” Silli noted, and emphasized that Mexico is a strategic partner for Italy in every sense.

The Italy-Mexico relations were consolidated in 2012, following the signing of a Strategic Partnership Agreement, and continue to grow.
