The text specified that this theme aligns with the aspirations of the African continental organization’s Agenda 2063.
The summit, hosted by Nasrec Exhibition Centre in Johannesburg, will address topics such as inclusive and sustainable economic growth, development financing, and external debt.
According to local authorities, 42 nations are participating, including the 19 remaining G20 members—excluding the United States—16 invited countries, and six representatives from regional economic communities in Africa, the Caribbean, and East Asia.
South Africa’s G20 presidency expires on November 30, handing the reins to the United States for 2026.
The main expected outcome of this summit is the Leaders’ Declaration, which is still being negotiated among the G20 member countries.
