Putin congratulates Maduro on his birthday and reaffirms alliance

Caracas, Nov 22 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a birthday letter to his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolas Maduro, in which he reaffirmed the strategic nature of the alliance between the two countries, Foreign Minister Yvan Gil reported.

“Dear friend! Please accept my warmest congratulations on your birthday,” the Russian head of State began his letter.

Putin said he fondly rememered “our constructive and substantial negotiations held last May in Moscow,” when the two leaders signed a Cooperation and Strategic Partnership Agreement in the context of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism.

The Russian president told his South American counterpart that “without a doubt, we will continue our close joint work for the ongoing strengthening of the strategic partnership between Moscow and Caracas.”

He emphasized his confidence that under Maduro’s leadership, the Bolivarian Republic will overcome all challenges with dignity and defend its legitimate interests in these turbulent times.

“I would like to reaffirm our unwavering solidarity with the friendly people of Venezuela,” Putin reiterated, concluding the letter by wishing him “good health, well-being, and success in his state work.”

On his Telegram account, Gil highlighted that this heartfelt letter of congratulations for the President’s birthday, which is celebrated tomorrow, “reaffirms the strategic nature of relations between Russia and Venezuela, underscoring the leadership of our head of State in guiding the nation.”
