The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) stated that this decision serves to “justify aggression” against the Bolivarian Republic and to force a change of government.
It denounced that this operation, based on a grotesque lie, is a misguided political maneuver that “could lead the US government to commit even more serious mistakes, capable of creating undesirable scenarios”.
The Latin American and Caribbean integration bloc stated that the United States’ policy of aggressions and threats against the sister nation of Venezuela is “strongly and almost unanimously rejected by the international community,” as well as by large sectors of global public opinion.
In the latter, it noted, is included the majority of the American people, who “have expressed themselves in favor of peace and against new interventionist adventures.”
The Alliance urged the United States government to cease its policy of aggression against our region, and, in particular, against Venezuela, “since such actions promote instability, falsehoods, and unnecessary risks to regional coexistence.”
ALBA-TCP reaffirmed its unconditional support for the Government of the Bolivarian Republic, led by President Nicolas Maduro, and reiterated “its commitment to truth, peace, and the sovereignty of the peoples.”
