Hungary accuses EU of trying to sabotage peace plan for Ukraine

hungary-accuses-eu-of-trying-to-sabotage-peace-plan-for-ukraine
Budapest, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó warned that European leaders intend to sabotage the peace plan for Ukraine, during his address to national media before traveling to Brussels.

According to the Hungarian Foreign Minister, the 28-point plan presented by the United States represents a great opportunity to finally restore peace to Ukraine, but he criticized Western Europeans for seemingly wanting something different, in statements broadcast on the M1 channel.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister will travel this Tuesday to the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council to urge his EU colleagues to support Washington’s initiative, emphasizing that this position responds to both humanitarian considerations and common sense.

Geopolitical analysts agree that Hungary’s stance highlights the deep divisions within the EU, where powers like Germany and France prioritize military interests over a diplomatic solution that guarantees the security of all European nations.

Consultations held this Sunday in Geneva between representatives of the United States, the EU, and Ukraine revealed profound disagreements, while Washington expressed its intention to establish direct dialogue with Moscow to move toward a definitive solution.
