The news agency wrote, “In the negotiations held in Geneva, the US and Ukrainian delegations managed to agree on most of the points of the US plan and correct most of the questionable points.”
The report states that among the agreed-upon issues were the troop limits for Ukraine, everything concerning the Russian-operated Zaporozhye nuclear facility, prisoner swap, and the repatriation of Ukrainians convicted by the courts.
The US and Ukrainian negotiators also agreed not to address issues related to territories and Ukraine’s non-admission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The statement also announced that US President Donald Trump could meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term as president of Ukraine ended in May 2024, this week or next week for talks.
The meeting between the US and Ukrainian delegations took place in Switzerland on Sunday, amid a major corruption scandal involving Zelensky’s inner circle, in which two ministers resigned.
