The reading and free distribution of the volume will take place in the auditorium of the Law Faculty, to which members of the Solidarity Movement with Cuba, Cuban residents, labor union members, and Cuban diplomats accredited to Colombia will attend.
The Fidel Castro Chair in this capital stated previously that the tribute is an act of gratitude from the Colombian people to the Cuban revolutionary for his tireless struggle to achieve peace.
The event will also include performances by artists Rodrigo Jaramillo and Andres Rodriguez.
“La Historia Me Absolvera” is Fidel Castro’s self-defense plea during his trial, which began on October 16, 1953, for the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons in the eastern cities of Santiago de Cuba and Bayamo, respectively, on July 26 of that year.
During the trial, the then-law graduate decided to represent himself, a decision that later became a book.
