In his account on the social network X, the head of the island’s diplomacy, corresponded to the samples received in the context of the commemoration of the “physical disappearance of the Commander-in-Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz”.
“The international tributes reaffirm the validity of his legacy and the immensity of his humanistic work in favor of the rights of the peoples of the world,” said the Cuban Foreign Minister in the publication.
Fidel Castro (Biran, Holguin, August 13, 1926-Havana, Cuba, November 25, 2016) was the architect of the revolutionary triumph of January 1st, 1959 against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista (1952-1959).
For more than fice decades he led the country’s economic and social transformations, the development of education, health, sport, culture and science, as well as the confrontation with external aggressions and the conduct of an active foreign policy based on principles.
Cuba pays tribute to his memory in a day that will take until August 13, 2026, the date of the centenary of his birth.
