Diaz-Canel thanks Venezuelan support and sends message to Maduro

Havana, Nov 28 (Prensa Latina) The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, sent a greeting of gratitude to the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, for the help that his country provides today in the recovery from the effects of hurricane Melissa.

In his social network account X, the Cuban leader addressed his meeting yesterday in Santiago de Cuba with a Venezuelan delegation headed by Domiciano Graterol, deputy minister of public works present on the island to provide assistance.

Diaz-Canel said this Friday that through Graterol “I sent a hug and our thanks to brother president Maduro”.

During the exchange at the Revolution Square Major General Antonio Maceo Grajales in Santiago de Cuba, Diaz-Canel stressed that the presence of Venezuelans is a sign of brotherhood and friendship between both peoples and revolutions.

Cooperation takes place in a context marked by external pressure and the military presence of the United States in the Caribbean, a situation that affects regional security and the stability of the Bolivarian Revolution.

The Cuban head of state said that this joint effort strengthened shared values and consolidated the cultural and historical identity of the two peoples, according to the Cuban News Agency.

The Cuban President thanked the Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and the youth who joined the brigade for their gesture of solidarity.

On the other hand, in another post also in X, Diaz-Canel highlighted today the setting up of all the country’s forces in Santiago de Cuba to give the definitive boost in the recovery of vital services in the province through which Hurricane Melissa entered last Wednesday, October 29.
