International symposium on African courts held in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, Nov 28 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopia is hosting the 4th International Symposium of African Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions, which began today, with the participation of more than 22 leaders of these judicial bodies.

The Director General of the Secretariat of the Council for Constitutional Research, Dessalegn Weyessa, reported that the African Union Assembly Hall will host the meeting, which will run until November 30 under the theme “Constitutionalism and State Building.”

Weyessa specified that among the observers and guests are delegations from Russia, Turkey, Spain, Latvia, the World Law Foundation, the Association of Jewish-American Constitutional Presidents, and other international participants.

He stated that Ethiopia will present its experience in constitutional interpretation and, at the same time, learn from the experiences of other countries.

The program includes more than a dozen research projects on related topics, as well as visits to places of interest in Addis Ababa.
