In a message posted on InSocial, the diplomatic institution underscored that Turkiye maintains its “firm support” for the Palestinian people and their legitimate cause, consistently backing their internationally recognized rights.
The declaration also reaffirms Ankara’s commitment to continue promoting the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and territorially intact Palestinian state, based on the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
Each year, several countries hold events and issue statements to commemorate the date approved by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 1977, intended to reaffirm the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and denounce the violations resulting from the Israeli occupation.
