Under the theme “Shaping Agricultural Policy for Africa’s Future: Innovation, Climate-Smart Practices, and Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development,” the meeting will take place at the headquarters of the continental organization until December 3.
Organized through the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, this first edition addresses diverse cross-cutting thematic areas, such as Digital Extension Services, Innovations in Agro-technology, Market Access and Value Chains, Climate-Smart Agriculture, Policy and Regulation, and Data Management and Privacy.
Among its objectives is to accelerate the adoption and use of digital technologies in Africa’s agricultural sector to improve productivity, sustainability, and resilience.
It also aims to facilitate knowledge sharing and learning among stakeholders on the latest trends, showcase successful digital agriculture initiatives, identify recommendations, and empower small-scale producers and rural communities by providing them with access to information, markets, and digital tools.
The conference is expected to generate practical information and suggestions for policymakers, development professionals, and other stakeholders.
