The digital news site Barbados Today revealed that the ACGDC issued the call in the context of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, urging the promotion of a more inclusive society.
Julston Kinch, president of the ACGDC, stated that “True social progress cannot be achieved when members of our society face barriers to full participation.”
Founded in 1981, the ACCGDC is Barbados’ leading assessment and treatment institution for children with developmental disabilities and other conditions.
It serves children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and other conditions.
Currently, 45 children receive comprehensive support in their Day Care, Education, and Workshop units, while hundreds more access assessment and therapy services annually.
“Every child deserves the opportunity to contribute their unique gifts to our society,” he argued.
“Together, we can build a Barbados where inclusion is not an aspiration, but a reality,” the social activist concluded.
