Russia opens two drone production plants in the Middle East

Moscow, Dec 5 (Prensa Latina) The Russian drone company Futurelab has begun production of civilian unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, the National Technological Initiative Platform announced today.

“The group is expanding its strategic presence in the Middle East, particularly in the two aforementioned countries, where we have opened two training and production centers for civilian UAS,” Futurelab Deputy Director Ilya Shevelev told the Sputnik news agency on Friday.

He noted that the company’s goal is to create “a complete ecosystem for unmanned technologies in the Middle East and long-term cooperation with countries in the region.”

The centers will be responsible for training drone operators and for the serial production of light and medium-sized drones.

In addition, the centers feature an exhibition of current drone models, allowing potential partners to evaluate their capabilities.

A sales office is also operating at each center for signing contracts and organizing exports.

Shevelev emphasized that the creation of comprehensive centers is a key step toward accessing global markets and promoting Russian technologies, as well as developing the drone industry in the Middle East region.
