The event took place at Kuriftu Africa Village as part of the “Ethiopia Month” celebrations, with the participation of ambassadors, deputy heads of mission, ministers, representatives of international organizations, and various stakeholders.
Inaugurating the event, Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening relations beyond formal channels.
“Cultural diplomacy allows us to connect beyond conference rooms,” he said, noting that interpersonal ties enrich the practice of relations between states through traditional means.
He noted that these encounters create meaningful bonds outside of official meetings and reflect the warmth and humanity that underpin international relations.
He underscored Ethiopia’s historic role in the founding of the United Nations and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to a strong and inclusive multilateral system.
“Ethiopia is proud of its role as a founding member and remains firmly committed to a multilateral system based on the Charter of the United Nations,” he added.
