Navy spokesperson Colonel Wang Xuemeng said this occurred despite that the training area had been properly announced in advance.
The spokesperson noted that the maneuvers of the Liaoning carrier strike group were conducted in accordance with international law.
He stated that the Japanese incursions “seriously affected the flight safety and normal training” of the Chinese Navy.
Wang underscored that Tokyo’s accusations “do not tally with reality” and demanded an immediate end to “slander and provocations.”
He added that China “will take the necessary steps, in accordance with the law, to defend its security and legitimate rights.”
