The Palestinian authorities maintain several obstacles that hinder or prevent the entry of essential products, Adnan Abu Hasna, spokesperson for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), criticized.
In statements to the official Palestinian news agency, Abu Hasna emphasized that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is blocking the entry into the Strip of an amount of aid that could fill up to 6,000 trucks.
The spokesperson estimated that the amount would be enough to meet the needs of the coastal enclave for three months.
He underscored that these shipments would make a huge difference on the ground, especially after the onset of winter and the rains.
Abu Hasna explained that several international NGOs managed to bring several vehicles into Gaza and delivered their cargo to UNRWA, which has some 12,000 employees in the territory and therefore has the logistical capacity for rapid distribution.
