A statement published on the website of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers points out that Meloni announced to Zelensky, in a telephone conversation, the upcoming shipment of generators supplied by Italian companies to support Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
The text underscored that this exchange between the two leaders took place shortly before the Ukrainian president started a tour of several European nations, including the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Italy, to strengthen military and diplomatic support for Kiev.
The Italian News Agency (AGI) informed in a message posted on social media that the Ukrainian president stated, “We are preparing joint efforts in Europe to make diplomacy work.”
Zelensky stated that in his conversation with Meloni, they “analyzed the results of engagement with the US side, as well as the current prospects and challenges,” at a time when Russian troops are making advances in Ukrainian territory, while Washington pressures Kyiv to sign a peace agreement.
