President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, will visit Ashkhabad on December 11 and 12, 2025 to participate in the International Year of Peace and Confidence Forum, the International Day of Neutrality and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanente Neutrality, said the statement.
During his stay in the Central Asian nation his agenda will also include a series of bilateral meetings with several heads of state, who will also attend the event.
The International Year of Peace and Confidence was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly trough a resolution adopted on March 21, 2024.
The International Neutrality Day is celebrated every December 12, established by the United Nations (UN) in 2017 at the proposal of Turkmenistan, to promote peace and international cooperation through impartiality.
On June 3, 2015, during the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, the resolution ‘Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan’ was adopted, endorsed by 193 states.
