According to the joint statement, the initiative aims to eliminate non-tariff barriers, increase concessions, and foster mutual cooperation on agricultural and industrial products, palm oil, and surgical equipment.
They also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in services, information technology, cybersecurity, and financial technology, as well as in the halal food industry and Islamic finance.
Furthermore, they stressed the need to strengthen joint investments to diversify and expand economic cooperation.
The committee will also explore opportunities to enhance cooperation in agriculture, mining, tourism, and energy, as well as initiatives between Pakistan’s Special Council for Investment Facilitation and Indonesia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund. Both countries also agreed to increase defense cooperation, with an emphasis on military training, as well as to collaborate in the fight against terrorism, violent extremism, and the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
