The severe flooding that occurred the previous day in the coastal province of Safi, in the southwest of the country, happened in a short period and was considered exceptional.
In addition, the rainfall left at least 14 people injured, who are receiving medical attention at Mohammed V Hospital in Safi, and two of them remain in intensive care.
According to medical sources cited by the Moroccan news agency MAP, rescue and civil protection services are continuing search and rescue operations on the ground to provide assistance to the affected communities.
Meanwhile, local authorities urged the population to stay informed and follow instructions regarding the risk of further flooding.
