Fifty-seven percent of large national companies anticipate this presence in the coming years, suggesting an accelerated transformation of the risk landscape, adds the Microsoft survey of companies in the country, “Cybersecurity 2025: Challenges and Strategies,” cited by CR Hoy.com.

Around 33 percent of these companies even report being moderately dependent on AI to address threats, while seven percent acknowledge their high dependence on this technology, the survey highlights.

For Marcelo Felman, Microsoft’s Director of Cybersecurity for Latin America, “the challenge is no longer investing in security, but how to scale it with AI and with responsible governance at every layer of the organization.”

The survey, administered to 100 Costa Rican IT and security professionals, determined that 60 percent of the aforementioned national companies perceive a high level of risk in their cybersecurity systems.

The Microsoft report indicates that, in general, although AI is still advancing at intermediate levels, its use “increases the speed and reach of defenses and, through specialized agents, helps close talent gaps, standardize processes, and enhance business resilience.”
