The NGO also reported that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are holding 73 doctors and healthcare workers in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, in violation of their rights.
The Sudan Doctors’ Network demanded that the warring forces cease these violations, release those being held, and protect healthcare personnel.
It also urged international organizations to take measures to contribute to the protection of healthcare professionals.
Since mid-April 2023, this African nation has been engulfed in civil war, following escalating power struggles between Army Chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Rapid Support Forces leader Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.
The fighting has already destroyed countless livelihoods, plunging the country into a complex spiral of hunger and death.
