During the year, ENEL carried out major maintenance on strategic hydroelectric plants, which allowed it to supply approximately 13 percent of the national electricity demand through this means and contribute to Nicaragua exceeding 80 percent of its energy matrix based on renewable sources, according to the Pastrán Report bulletin.
According to the publication, the company also strengthened its Geochemical Laboratory, key to the exploitation of the country’s vast geothermal potential, estimated at between 1,500 and 2,500 megawatts.
This progress directly impacts sustainable development projections and the consolidation of a reliable and clean energy supply, it stated.
He added that as part of that process, the company made progress in the accreditation of said laboratory through the implementation of a Quality Management System, with validation of testing methods, assurance of results and continuous updating of its specialists.
